Registered Nurse RN – Full Time – Emergency Department
Schedule: 72 hours per 2-week pay period | 12-hour NIGHT Shifts (including weekends)
Location: Scripps Memorial La Jolla

This position is eligible for New Hire and Relocation Incentives up to $7K

Our expert trauma surgeons, specialty physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams are available 24/7 to provide exceptional care for every type of traumatic injury.

The Conrad Prebys Emergency and Trauma Center at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla is a Level I Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma and serves as a private teaching hospital for trauma medicine. The hospital features a dedicated trauma unit supported by an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), telemetry, and medical/surgical services. Our multidisciplinary teams collaborate throughout every stage of a patient's recovery—from emergency response and acute hospital care to discharge, follow-up, and rehabilitation.

Registered Nurse (RN) – Trauma Med/Surg

Join the Trauma Med/Surg team at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla and provide exceptional care to trauma and post-surgical medical/surgical patients at one of California's premier Level I Trauma Centers.

Our 22-bed Trauma Med/Surg Unit is a fast-paced, high-acuity Model Care Unit where collaboration, clinical excellence, and compassionate care are at the center of everything we do. The unit maintains a 4:1 or 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in accordance with California Title 22 guidelines, allowing nurses to provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.

In this role, you will:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Implement and evaluate nursing interventions to support optimal patient outcomes.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans based on clinical needs.
  • Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless, evidence-based treatment.
  • Serve as the primary nurse for your patients, promoting healing while respecting each patient's dignity, autonomy, and individual goals.

New Hire and Relocation Incentive eligible up to $7K , including relocation.

  • Internal candidates
  • Rehires that left Scripps less than 3 years ago

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:

  • Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
  • Must remain in original department/specialty
  • Must remain in original Job Title

Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter
