Overview

Provide leadership and assistance to elementary, middle, high school and learning community staff. Provide monitoring and training on best practices for the social, emotional and mental wellbeing of students.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:1. Master’s degree from an accredited institution required; Educational Leadership preferred.2. Valid Florida teaching certificate, or have applied for a Florida teaching certificate, or Licensure through Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling.3. Three (3) years of administrative or leadership experience in a district-based or school-based position, or as a member of a school leadership team.4. Two (2) years of experience in a position related to school-based counseling or mental health services.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of leadership, organization, and management theory and practice. Knowledge of the teaching and learning processes. Knowledge of social, emotional and mental health programs and initiatives as well as researched-based best practices. Knowledge of Florida anti-bullying statutes and policies. Possess understanding of elementary, middle, and high school guidance functions. Knowledge of mental health counselor functions and exceptional student education compliance for mental health counselors. Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, facilitate group consensus, and planned decision making. Understands that quality teaching and learning are the essential processes and product of public schools and has the ability to focus resources to this goal.REPORTS TO: Director, Mental Health ServicesSUPERVISES: Program Specialist, Mental Health and may supervise instructional support personnel, mental health counselors, school counselors and classified personnel.MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT:Machines, tools, equipment, electronic devices, vehicles, etc., used in this position.
