Overview:

The Executive Director, Medical Operations reports to the VP of the Ambulatory Services Division. Functions as a senior physician leader for Hospital Based Specialty Divisions in the Northwest Region. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, this role is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination and direction of physician and clinical services in assigned territory.

Reports directly to the SVP, Chief Medical Officer for all clinical, operational, and administrative responsibilities. For strategic direction - including clinical standards, protocols, quality benchmarks, and collaboration - they will maintain functional alignment with the VP, CMO Surgical Specialties and the VP, CMO Medical Specialties. The EDMO is expected to maintain a regular presence within their territory, which includes Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, Woodbridge, and surrounding communities.

Responsibilities

  • Define, plan, develop, implement, and oversee programs and systems to guide and attain the goals of ASD/Sentara Healthcare

  • Ensures appropriate prioritization and good resource management to fulfill strategic objectives

  • Responsible for the overall Provider clinical operations, as well as activities that relate to the future growth of the territory

Education/Experience

  • Doctorate Level Degree in Osteopathic Medicine (Required)

  • MD - Doctor of Medicine (Required)

  • 5 years of Business Unit Director experience (Required)

  • 5 years of Clinical/Healthcare Management experience (Required)
