In this role, you will be part of VELUX Global Procurement reporting directly to the Senior Procurement Manager for Commercial Procurement, located in Denmark. You will join a procurement team dedicated and skilled in handling primarily strategic and tactical Procurement tasks. Central Hub for our Strategic Buyer team is Warsaw with alternative production and office sites in Poland, Denmark and Germany.
Your challenges
As a Strategic Buyer for VELUX Commercial, you will work with a team of 3 other Strategic Buyers and our local Purchasing teams handling the end-to-end Supplier Life Cycle and Sourcing to Contract processes for the unique suppliers to VELUX Commercial.
Within Global Procurement you will have close collaboration on sourcing strategies and specific strategic suppliers shared with the Category Management function of the VELUX Residential business.
In Commercial Procurement, you will be responsible for ensuring solid business solutions for the VELUX Commercial business unit. Your tasks will cover the full range of strategic & tactical procurement tasks.
You will be co-responsible for minimizing our purchasing and production costs (End2End), Supplier Consolidation/reduction, Contract Coverage & Compliance and ensuring that our development projects are accomplished in the right quality, at the right time, and at the right price. The successful candidate will achieve this through strong relations with external suppliers as well as internal stakeholders and by pro-active execution of the overall sourcing strategy defined in Commercial Procurement, supporting Supply in VELUX Commercial. Order handling is not part of the tasks of this role, but is handled by our 6 VELUX Commercial factories Europe.
As VELUX Commercial is a project-related business, the business often needs fast actions, flexibility and requires attention to the right solutions, which sometimes are taken on an uncertain basis, such as processes, data, etc. in development.
More specifically, you will:
Take responsibility for independent and cross-functional strategic projects
Be responsible for own portfolio of suppliers/projects
Be vendor responsible and negotiate and make commercial agreements with a TCO approach
Participate in the development and execution of the overall Commercial sourcing strategy with a main focus on cost out through supplier reduction/consolidation within your area
Execute RFI/RFQ processes and ensure correct purchasing master data in our ERP systems
Ensure continuous communication with internal stakeholders regarding valid supplier contracts, prices, and general optimization which could include possible new suppliers
Work with Procurement KPIs as a goal for your results
Build and maintain good relations with suppliers as well as internal stakeholders
Admin and processing tools - ca. 50% of work time
As a Strategic Buyer, you need to be close to suppliers and our productions sites. Therefore you should expect 40-50 traveling days per year (mainly Eastern Europe, Germany and Denmark)

Relevant master's degree in e.g., Business, Engineering or mixed form of Supply Chain Management
