Job Summary
The Radiology Assistant supports the daily operations of the Imaging Department by assisting technologists, preparing patients for procedures, maintaining equipment and supply areas, and performing basic administrative duties. This role contributes to efficient workflow and high-quality patient care by ensuring readiness of imaging spaces, supporting patient comfort and safety, and facilitating communication among the radiology team and other departments.
Schedule: : Full-Time, Weekends, Fri, Sat & Sun 8A-8P

Qualifications
- Completion of a certified nursing assistant (CNA), patient care technician (PCT), or medical assistant program preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or imaging setting preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- BCLS - Basic Life Support obtained within 30 days of hire required
- CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant preferred or
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA preferred or
- CPCA - Certified Patient Care Assistant preferred or
- Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) preferred or
- EMT - Emergency Medical Tech Certification preferred or
- LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure preferred
Essential Functions
- Prepares patients for imaging procedures by verifying identification, assisting with positioning, and providing comfort measures as needed.
- Assists imaging technologists with room turnover, equipment cleaning, and exam preparation in accordance with infection control and safety protocols.
- Maintains adequate stock of supplies and equipment, placing orders and organizing materials to support efficient daily operations.
- Performs basic administrative duties, including patient chart preparation, order entry, record retrieval, and phone communication with staff, physicians, and families.
- Supports the maintenance of patient records and ensures timely distribution of reports and documentation to the appropriate departments.
- Communicates promptly with supervisors or clinical s regarding patient care issues, supply shortages, or equipment concerns.
- Follows established protocols for personal protective equipment (PPE), sterile technique, and radiology department safety policies.
- Assists with patient transports, including discharges and transfers, as directed by imaging or nursing staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
