About the Position

In this role, you will provide administrative support to Planning and PDS leadership while coordinating public hearing and meeting advertisements and related documents. You will also research and compile information, support reports and presentations, improve internal processes, and serve as a liaison to the Planning Commission and other boards as needed.

Examples of job responsibilities include...

  • Providing administrative support to Planning staff, including coordinating public hearing ads and posting staff reports.

  • Preparing agendas, schedules, and materials for Planning Commission and advisory board meetings.

  • Managing meeting logistics, records, minutes, and online postings using internal systems.

  • Tracking and coordinating deadlines for hearings, reports, mailings, and board calendars.

  • Assisting with the Board of County Commissioners materials and presentations.

  • Researching and compiling information to support planning projects and initiatives.

  • Helping maintain office procedures and improve internal processes.

  • Offering customer service and assisting with special projects as needed.

About the Schedule

Work Hours:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.

  • Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday, 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. (no weekends!)

As a reminder, all county employees are considered essential and must be prepared to protect and support the community and its citizens. Each employee, without exception, will have a duty assignment and be required to work during a disaster or declared emergency.

About You

To be considered for this role, you must have the following:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education (G.E.D.) and 2 to 5 years of clerical and computer experience.

  • OR: College coursework in Business from an accredited college or university. (1 year of college may substitute for 1 year of experience.)

The ideal candidate has the following knowledge, skills, and/or abilities:

  • Related professional certification preferred

  • Experience working with ordinances, resolutions, and electronic records

  • Strong attention to detail with advanced editing skills; able to work independently and in a team under tight deadlines

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn County software (Adobe, SharePoint, Granicus, eGenda)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional, team-oriented attitude

Physical Demands: Employees in this role must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.

About Everything Else

Starting Pay Range: $22.94 - $28.68/hr, based on experience.
