As a Tech Lead in Software Development Engineering, you won’t just write code, you’ll help build the systems that move money, support businesses, and connect people around the world.

In this role, you’ll lead with purpose, collaborating across teams to design and deliver reliable and stable software solutions. You’ll be at the heart of our transaction processing and payment networks—systems that power over 150 million debit transactions every single day. What you will do:  

  • Analyze and evaluate complex business problems and their impact within transaction processing and back-office application systems.

  • Create, review and approve business, functional and technical design specifications for transaction processing applications.

  • Create and develop system applications utilizing standard concepts, practices and procedures.

  • Test applications to ensure high quality and performance to required specifications.

  • Coordinate and implement new system installations. Perform system walk-through of technical and operational features for new or existing systems.

  • Resolve software support issues related to application design specifications.

  • Effectively communicate technical information to on-shore and off-shore team members and to non-technical audiences.

  • Mentor and support other members of the team (both on-shore and off-shore) to assist in completing tasks and meet objectives.

  • Follow established standards and procedures to develop reliable low-maintenance source code.

  • Troubleshoot production problems

  • Create and maintain application design specifications as needed and report to a development manager.

  • Monitor upcoming new development activity for potential impact to overall environment.

  • Work on one or more projects as a team member or as a project lead.

  • Work with Business Analysts to refine project functional requirement documentation.  Ensure that the finished product is delivered on time, with quality.

  • Work closely with other groups like product, business analyst, quality assurance, and project management resources throughout delivery of solutions

  • Contribute to the team effort by performing related tasks as needed

  • Provide weekly status reports and time accounting.

What you will need to have:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field (equivalent work experience may be considered)

  • 4+ years of experience in software development life cycle environment

  • Payment processing industry background

  • Experience with HP technology and utilities

  • Knowledge of switch network interfaces, ATM/POS authorization, Host Interfaces

  • Understanding of EMV and tokenization transactions

  • Background in Tandem utilities, transaction simulators and source repositories

  • Ability to demonstrate strong leadership, including taking ownership for major project initiatives, work effectively in a team environment, as well as on an independent basis
