As a senior engineer, your responsibilities will include:
Your day to day:
- Collaborate closely with a team of engineers to design, develop, test, and deploy highly scalable and adaptable products for both web and mobile platforms. These solutions should seamlessly function across various browsers and platforms.
- Engage with product and design teams to gain insights into business requirements, fostering innovation and exploring fresh opportunities. Your input will be valued, as you'll participate in design meetings to propose, discuss, and refine new features and functionalities.
- Work with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and deliver end-to-end solutions that offer high availability and configurability, thus generating tangible business value.
- Take ownership of communicating technical standards, principles, methodologies, and industry trends to stakeholders.
- Maintain a steadfast commitment to end-to-end quality throughout the software development lifecycle, encompassing secure development, localization, and internationalization.
- Write code that is deliberately designed for reusability, facilitating collaboration with other teams.
- Develop and communicate technical processes, standards, and best practices to your colleagues.
- Demonstrate a willingness and aptitude to acquire new technologies and programming languages as needed.
- Capably navigate abstract architectures and transition existing, non-generic code into more universal and abstract frameworks when necessary.
- Contribute to test automation efforts, including Test-Driven Development (TDD), unit, integration, functional, and accessibility testing.
- Continually update and enhance existing architectural documentation while creating new documentation as required.
- Serve as a mentor and coach for less experienced engineers, sharing your expertise and insights to foster professional growth.
What do you need to bring:
- Over five years of professional experience specializing in software development, particularly in Java backend development.
- Demonstrated high proficiency in Java, J2EE Technologies, object-oriented and functional programming, and staying up-to-date with the latest related topics and technologies.
- Solid grasp of both the capabilities and constraints involved in constructing robust backend applications.
- Track record of creating high-scale, high-throughput, and low-latency systems.
- Proficiency in writing top-quality code and implementing automated tests to ensure code reliability.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of independently or collaboratively tackling intricate technical challenges.
- Familiarity with contemporary software development practices, version control systems, and agile methodologies.
- Exceptional communication skills enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Keen attention to detail, coupled with a commitment to delivering top-notch software solutions.
- Ability to mentor and elevate the skills of team members.
- Proven history of successful collaboration with colleagues in non-technical roles such as marketing, finance, and legal.
