Description
[U]Tech's Teaching and Learning Technologies Digital Accessibility AI Student Assistant will be working on an ongoing project melding the industries of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Accessibility. This is a remote position with work needing to be done in the state of Ohio. The hourly rate for this position is $15. This position has the potential to continue employment for future semesters, and we are looking for candidates who plan to be in Ohio and available to work in the spring and summer of 2026.
The position primarily involves developing and maintaining a generative AI interface designed to produce accessible HTML outputs for complex digital accessibility files within Case Western Reserve University’s academic digital course materials. The work will be conducted under the supervision of the Enterprise Applications & Data Management team and the Digital Accessibility team in [U]Tech.
Improving the accessibility of digital learning content will have a direct, meaningful impact on the educational experience of all students. Digital accessibility training will be provided for specific processes and tasks.
We are looking for candidates who are eligible to work in the state of Ohio and can fulfill the responsibilities listed below.
Responsibilities include:

Gaining expertise in basic digital accessibility principles and WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines.

Testing the accuracy of the AI application's output and ensuring it meets digital accessibility WCAG 2.1 AA standards.

Collaborating with different teams within [U]Tech and other campus stakeholders to develop and refine the AI interface.

Problem-solving and applying technical skills to improve digital accessibility for academic content

Tracking the progress of work completed in TeamDynamix (TDX) and Human Capital Management (HCM) for every work session.

Participating in mandatory virtual weekly meetings to discuss progress toward the project’s goals

Maintaining a clear record of the results and testing notes used for project documentation

Using Canvas to preview the HTML outputs and evaluate the accessibility of the result
Qualifications
Required Skills:

Ability to use workflows to evaluate completed work.

Proficiency with Canvas, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office

Adaptable and open to learning new software or applications, when needed

Strong professional communication skills via email, Zoom, or in-person.

Familiarity with using the Python programming language and Python notebooks

Familiarity with Vanilla JS, HTML, and CSS
-
Basic understanding of Linux server infrastructure

Experience working with Amazon Bedrock models and the AWS environment (EC2, IAM Roles)
Preferred Skills:
-
Experience with Django Framework and Vanilla JS

Familiarity with the LangChain platform and Python libraries (for interacting programmatically with AI models)

Experience working with LLM APIs (AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, Gemini)

Understanding of Prompt Engineering, Context Windows, and Streaming Text Generation
