Salary/Position Classification

  • $944.45/month monthly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • Waiver of 2 credits

Purpose of Position

This position monitors the Clinical Resource & Simulation Center (CRSC) on Mondays & Tuesdays 4pm - 8pm and on a few Wednesdays 4pm - 8pm (dates TBD) during Spring 2025 semester. This position requires an on-campus presence and only CNPD Nursing master's or doctoral students will be considered.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Graduate Teaching Assistant
    • Assisting graduate and undergraduate students with retrieving various supplies and equipment
    • Assisting undergraduate students with skill development
    • Assisting with preparing labs and simulations for various nursing courses
    • Assisting students with checking equipment and supplies in and out of the CRSC
    • Communicating and working with faculty and students, including assisting students’ complete makeup lab and simulation activities if needed
    • Communicating effectively with CRSC Director and CRSC staff on a regular basis
    • Assisting semester II students with IV insertion
    • Providing instruction to students requesting skills practice
    • Maintaining security of the lab, including completing closing tasks at the end of the day

Required Competencies

  • Effective communication skills
  • Interest in teaching & supporting student learning

Minimum Requirements

  • CNPD student enrolled in a nursing graduate program
  • Good academic standing within nursing program
  • Recent nursing experience in caring for patients in the acute care setting
  • Must be registered for a minimum of 6 graduate level academic credits
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
