SR. MANAGER, STARLINK BUSINESS OPERATIONS
One of the most ambitious missions that SpaceX has undertaken to date, the Starlink constellation is our solution to providing reliable internet to the entire world. The Sr. Manager of Starlink Business Operations will be responsible for operations planning worldwide. Successful candidates in this role will be highly organized, possess effective communication skills, and work well in a dynamic environment with changing needs as we strive to deliver high-impact technology on a massive scale.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify operational challenges within the organization, determine root causes, and develop effective solutions tailored to the appropriate teams.
- Lead and manage daily operations in several of the following areas (depending on skill set): sales, marketing, finance, operations, recruiting, supply chain, market access, and program management and take ownership of outcomes for these functions.
- Start, plan, manage, and coordinate high priority projects through completion ensuring effective communication and tight deadlines are met.
- Codify knowledge and best practices across functions, actively ensuring documentation is updated and maintained.
- Project definition, planning, scheduling, resource allocation and triage, metrics gathering, and communication of objectives and timelines to wider audiences.
- Identify and own projects and processes that improve overall program success and progress.
- Work with operations teams to coordinate successful and timely activation of Starlink production and related operations.
- Serve as liaison between finance team and customer operations team on country level P&Ls.
- Develop weekly and monthly reports for stakeholders and management on sales metrics and other key business updates.
- Serve as a liaison and SpaceX advocate to local government and private commercial leadership.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or 8+ years of experience in project management in lieu of a degree.
- 5+ years of professional experience in an analytical or operations role.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 7+ years of relevant work experience in consulting, banking, software, internet, media industries, and/or early stage companies in market entry.
- Experience leading complex operational and strategic initiatives.
- Experience working cross-functionally to support launches and scaling operations.
- Demonstrated track record of cross-functional stakeholder management and leadership through influence.
- Distinctive project management, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Strong business judgment.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Flexibility required including long hours and weekend work when necessary to support operations and critical project timelines.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Sr. Manager, Business Operations: $160,000.00 - $205,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. - To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
