Position Purpose: The Director Practice Operations plans, implements, and monitors the operational performance of the assigned area of responsibility. The Director is responsible for continuous process improvement, growth development strategies, staff development and provider relationships. This is a full-time, FLSA Exempt position.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Ensures the effective and efficient delivery of care along the areas of responsibility to ensure KHI is the preferred provider of these services in the region.
  • Directs and coordinates physicians, administration, clinic managers, and office coordinators to drive departments in the direction of Physician Services and hospital goals while creating consistency and best practices in operating policies and procedures.
  • Accountable for oversight of the operations of assigned area of responsibility including budgeting, financial performance, patient experience, employee engagement, provider staffing, quality, safety, and access availability for our patients.
  • In collaboration with the stakeholders, sets specific, measurable goals for each department; monitors and reports outcomes including monthly dashboards, and if needed develops corrective action plans to improve performance outcomes for areas of responsibility. Accountable for continuous process improvement activities which lead to expected outcomes. Reviews performance of departments with the Chief Medical Officer and/or VP of Physician Services.
  • Develops annual operating and capital expenditure budgets to meet or exceed system targets. Reviews monthly financial reports and takes appropriate actions to improve performance. Reports monthly to supervisor on financial performance and actions required to ensure we are meeting established budget targets.
  • Participates in the planning and recruitment process for new providers and ensure that all support systems are in place for new providers to be successful in their practice.
  • Responsible for strategic planning of service line and monitoring market for opportunities of growth.
  • In collaboration with Chief Medical Officer and/ VP Physician Services, promptly addresses all provider related issues or concerns. Drives regular meetings with each individual provider to review the performance dashboards, patient satisfaction and clinic fiscal performance.
  • Ensures that the delivery of care and services in the assigned areas of responsibility meet Federal, State, DNV, and other regulatory/accreditation requirements. 

Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field with 3 years of medical office or healthcare management experience; or 7 years of relevant work experience, which includes 3 years of medical office or healthcare management experience.
  • Licensure: Current and valid driver's license
