Director, Post-Production, Scripps

The E.W. Scripps Company is hiring a Director, Creative Studio Post Production who will oversee and lead post-production department workflows, ensuring the seamless execution of all post-production activities, and fostering a collaborative environment. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Production, Edit, Audio, and Design, to support compelling and visually stunning content to our audiences..

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Leadership and Management:

• Lead and mentor a talented team of post-production professionals, including editors, colorists, and media management.

• Develop and implement strategies for improving team efficiency, productivity, and delivery.

• Provide department computer and software budget input and allocate resources effectively.

Project Oversight:

• Partner with Creative Leads and Producers to oversee all post-production projects from inception to delivery, ensuring that deadlines and quality standards are met.

• Provide creative direction and feedback to post-production teams to achieve the desired results.

Technology and Workflow:

• Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies related to post-production.

• Evaluate and implement new software, hardware, and workflows to enhance the efficiency and quality of post-production processes.

• Ensure that the department is equipped with current and well-maintained post-production equipment and software.

Quality Assurance:

• Establish and maintain rigorous quality control processes to ensure the highest standards of post-production output. This includes process reviews to facilitate improvement and feedback.

Collaboration:

• Foster a collaborative and creative work environment by building effective teams and encouraging open communication and teamwork.

• Collaborate closely with other departments, including project management, production, creative, and technical teams, to ensure seamless project execution.

WHAT YOU'LL NEEED:

• BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred

• Generally, 10+ years of experience in related field preferred

• Prior managerial experience preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• Strong leadership and team management skills

• In-depth knowledge of post-production workflows, software and hardware

• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Highly functioned thinker around systems management workflow and process
