LOCATION - Travelling/ Project Sites

We do not require you to live in a specific location for this position, but you will be expected to report to one of our current job sites across the US. Job sites will be discussed during interview process.

ABOUT THE JOB

In addition to welding, the successful candidate must be able to perform or assist in tasks related to welding such as fit‐up, preparation, repair, inspection, and post weld preparation. A Welder will also be asked to assist with general site work such as loading and unloading equipment and materials, site clean‐up and preparation, mobilization and demobilization to and from the jobsite, scaffolding erection, general tank construction tasks and other duties as assigned.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding and fabrication activities on steel storage tanks
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and other technical documents to understand the specifications, dimensions, and welding requirements for each tank
  • Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, fitting, and assembling steel components to ensure accurate alignment and compliance 
  • Utilize various welding techniques, such as shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), to achieve high-quality welds
  • Perform visual inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) on completed welds to ensure they meet project specifications
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Follow all relevant safety standards and regulations
  • Maintain and inspect welding equipment regularly to ensure its proper functioning. Report any malfunctions or issues to the supervisor
  • Work closely with other members of the welding team, as well as project managers and quality control personnel, to achieve project goals and timelines
  • Complete required documentation, including welding logs and quality control reports, to maintain accurate records of work performed
  • Stay updated on industry trends, welding techniques, and changes in API standards to enhance skills and knowledge

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Possess relevant welding certifications
  • Proven experience as a welder in the fabrication of storage tanks
  • Proficient in various welding techniques and familiar with the use of welding equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and precision
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and procedures
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to interpret and follow instructions accurately
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
