Job Description:
Plays a vital role in supporting student success by strengthening the connection between families, schools, and the community. Fosters culturally and linguistically responsive partnerships to enhance student achievement, well-being, and parent leadership. Communicates bilingually and utilizes language interpretation and translation tools to communicate in the families’ preferred languages. Develops and promotes consistent and positive community relations among various district and community clientele. Cultural mediator, interpretation certification, or Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred.Must be able and willing to obtain other certifications required for the position. May be required to travel using a personal vehicle.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
- Experience effectively communicating and interacting with culturally, linguistically, and socioeconomically diverse students, families, and staff.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATION:
- Interpretation, Cultural Mediation preferred

Position Specific Information (if Applicable):
Responsibilities:
Serve multiple schools and maintain regular communication with school leadership to align support efforts.
Support families and students in navigating and actively participating in the education system.
Collaborate with school and district teams and other relevant teams to coordinate student and family support.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with families, schools, and community partners to support student learning and engagement.
Empower staff and families with strategies to collaborate effectively for student success.
Connect families with school and community resources, ensuring they have the information needed for meaningful engagement.
Communicate with families in their preferred language, ensuring access to educational opportunities and resources.
Foster clear, consistent, and positive communication between families, schools, and the district.
Support school-based family engagement initiatives and facilitate authentic family partnerships.
Assist schools in developing and implementing effective family and student engagement strategies.
Serve as a cultural and linguistic bridge between families, schools, and the community while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Certifications:
Cultural Mediation - International Mediation Institute, Interpretation - CCA
Education:
Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree
Skills:
Advanced knowledge of educational terms, phrases and acronyms in specified language., Effective oral and written communication skills in English. Bilingual or multilingual oral and written skills preferred., Operate and use personal computers, related software and equipment (e.g., printer), telephone, Operating knowledge of and experience with word processing and interpreting system., Skilled interpersonal and intercultural relations and competency, including socio-linguistic diversity and variance, Verbal and written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
