Fuel Farm Maintenance Supervisor - starting at $32/hr

The Menzies Aviation Fuel Farm Maintenance Supervisor troubleshoots and repairs equipment as well as pipeline issues, electrical equipment, motors, switch gear, and lighting. The Fuel Farm Mechanic Supervisor must have experience and understanding of industrial process controls, communication, and automation, particularly those commonly used in the petroleum industry. The Fuel Farm Mechanic Supervisor is also responsible for communicating, assuring completion and compliance within the maintenance department, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company. This is a working position which will require the employee to be in the field performing maintenance as well as leading the Maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and adjust customer complaints and concerns regarding fuel systems maintenance
- Diagnose problems using test equipment, statistical, equipment history, manufactures specifications, industry related standards and blueprints
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain related components such as: pumps, valves, vessels, hydrant pits, gauges, switches, motors, lights, heaters, meters, hoses, hydrant vehicles, etc.
- Follow company and departmental safety policies and procedures
- Develops and monitors equipment testing schedules and delegates duties to maintenance technicians
- Maintain records relating to maintenance
- Support Quality Control and Quality Assurance
- Works with and communicates with the Operations Manager to ensure work scope is completed in accordance with all safety policies and procedures
- Ensures work is completed in the safest and most efficient manner
- Communicates to the Maintenance Technicians regarding daily work scope and activities
- Completes Work Orders as assigned
- Monitors reliability of equipment
- Assists with analyzing unscheduled work requirements to help troubleshoot problems, prioritize tasks, and assign resources
- Communicates all discoveries, changes in daily work scope scheduled, personnel requests, general requests, and completion of work activities and any other issues to the Operation Manager, while reviewing the next day’s work scope/schedule
- Continues to strive to attain to the next level of reliability by conducting root cause analysis and optimize preventative maintenance (PM’s), and look at predictive technologies to identify problems earlier in the failure progression
- Promotes teamwork within the maintenance department as well as between the various departments within the plant
- Presents ideas to improve how the department functions and ways to improve issues and reliability in throughout the operation
- Audits work scope activities as they are being performed and report progress to the Operations Manager
- Follows through on the Management of Change (MOC) process to completion
- Assists Maintenance Technicians with troubleshooting and complex problems
- Assists the Operations Manager with turn-arounds and planning activities
- Ensures interactive Tool Box Talks are completed at shift briefings and weekly team meetings
- Assists the Operations Manager in scheduling training, conducting training, and development of technicians for the department
- Works a schedule that occasionally requires overtime or call-in as required
- Participates in HS&E programs
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- 3-5+ years of experience in the maintenance or repair of industrial equipment required
- Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in hydraulics, industrial electricity and pneumatics; or 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of all education and experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, blueprints and hydraulic, etc.
- Welding knowledge of carbon and stainless steel preferred
- Experience using Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word and Excel) and a computerized maintenance management system preferred
- Experience in the maintenance functions of a Fuel Terminal preferred
- Experience in the use of hand and power tools
- Able to meet the stations attendance standards
- Electronics experience a plus
- Possess good communication skills and problem-solving abilities
- Must be able to work efficiently under pressure and work in high places.
- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions
- Knowledge of all aspects of equipment used in the operation
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customer or employees
