What you’ll do:
The Brass Tacks
• Monitor swimmers at all times to ensure safety.
• Administer first aid for minor injuries (e.g., small cuts, bruises)
• Enforce pool rules and maintain a safe, enjoyable environment.
• Cover/uncover the pool as needed.
• Set up and manage the pool iPad system.
• Sweep, scrub, and hose the pool deck as necessary.
• Water flowers and maintain landscaping around the pool area.
• Set up and put away pool safety equipment (backboards, rescue tubes, signage).
• Maintain pool house cleanliness, including vacuuming, trash bin levels, and restocking supplies.
• Attend staff meetings and take on additional tasks as assigned.
• Clean and stock bathrooms, changing rooms, and showers according to defined schedule and more often as needed.
• Organize and oversee pool games and activities.
• Keep accurate records of pool use, supplies, and other items as defined by the Pool Lead.
• Assist with laundry to keep pace with towel usage.
• Set cabanas with fresh towels and buckets of iced bottled water ahead of each rental session.
• Maintain a clean and orderly pool area, including straightening furniture, umbrellas, pool toys, and equipment at the end of each day.
• Ensure first aid supplies are stocked, and report needs to management.
• Perform routine pool maintenance, including checking chemicals, vacuuming, and skimming debris.
• Assist in organizing member clinics as directed.
The Nitty Gritty
• Current Red Cross Lifeguarding or YMCA Lifeguarding certification.
• Current Red Cross First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification, Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Rating preferred.
• Skill in basic swimming strokes, including but not limited to breaststroke, crawl stroke, side stroke and elementary back stroke.
• Represent club as a true professional, engaging with members and team members in a positive, enthusiastic, and responsive manner at all times.
