Job Description

DNAnexus  is seeking a Senior Events Marketing Manager to join our growing marketing team and organization.

The ideal candidate has well-rounded experience in all primary aspects of B2B event strategy, marketing, logistics, and coordination. Experience in the life sciences industry is a must. 

You must be highly responsive, agile and a fast learner. This person will be a key part of the Demand Generation Team and lead the execution of all our events, conferences, and other related marketing-related tasks. 

The successful candidate will also collaborate with Marketing representatives to support other related initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversight for strategic and logistical facets of corporate conferences, conventions, expos, programs and meetings.
  • Participate in and/or lead program-specific committees through the overall event management process.
  • Initiate, analyze and compare written quotes from vendors such as venues, audio visual, transportation companies, AV companies, and specialty service providers and within cost structure for meeting or event, per stakeholder or client direction, when negotiating with venue and caterer.
  • Assist customer speakers and partners with travel arrangements and expense reporting.
  • Assist our accounts payable department by getting receipts logged on a timely manner.
  • Support in the development and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns as it pertains to events and conferences.
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, and other in-person events as needed
  • Own administrative tasks, such as working with finance department to process purchase orders and invoices, make payments, and track receipts
  • Order, track and maintain inventory of updated marketing collateral materials and other promotional items.
  • Coordinate with different team members on various projects, deliverables, and deadlines

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Experienced in all aspects of meeting logistics planning including contracting, venue/logistics management, transportation, audio visual, food & beverage, shipping and on-site execution management
  • Hyper-focused on the “attendee experience” and related outcomes
  • Experienced with budget development and reconciliation process
  • Excellent project management skills. Direct project management experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, spelling and grammar are crucial
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Willing to collaborate with different team members on various projects
  • Must be a great multitasker with tactical focus
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to work under deadline pressure, both independently and as part of a team

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual starting salary is between $110,000- 120,000 total compensation.  Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
