Your New Role
This internship will be located in the NYC area. The selected intern will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager’s in office schedule. The West Coast Business Affairs unit oversees all contractual agreements, for every cast and crew member working on an HBO/MAX production. The intern will be exposed to performer, producer, writer, director agreements, and obtain an inside knowledge of the behind scenes business negotiations.
Your Role Accountabilities
Duties include reading, analyzing and entering complex deals into payments and option database.
Researching and collating appropriate agreements for analysis.
Drafting of Legal Option Letters and Legal notices for internal tracking purposes.
Maintain an excel chart of monthly HBO Production Agendas, Air date tables, Production Contacts and Statuses that change from month to month.
Upload documents into SharePoint databases, organize digital files, heavy data entry of payment information into HBO's payment system.
Must be detail oriented, a disciplined self-starter and able to complete tasks to meet deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience
Interest in reading contracts and then extracting contractual information into a database. ie TERM END DATES, DEAL TERMS, PAYMENT TERMS etc.
Must okay with coordinating meetings and a self-starter.
Familiarity with Legal agreements a plus.
The right candidate will be joining a high-performance team that handles a large volume of information.
Must be ready to work!
Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
Must be a rising Junior or Senior (18 years or older)
Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended.
