* Salary is competitive and based upon qualifications (pursuant to 5 MRSA sec. 196, the salary for this position is set by the Office of the Attorney General). A 15% information technology recruitment and retention stipend for the position will be added to salary ($3.55 - $4.99 hourly).

The State of Maine Office of the Attorney General is seeking a dynamic individual for our Information Technology team. This is technical services work in an integrated computer network environment. An employee in this classification performs a full range of system administration functions requiring a technical computer support background. Responsibilities include monitoring incoming helpdesk communications- including e-mail and telephone calls; installing and configuring PCs as well as other network devices; diagnosing and resolving communications, hardware, and operating system problems; implementing, and monitoring system security procedures; archiving and disaster recovery functions; support all applications used by the office; maintain equipment inventory records and liaison with the Office of Information Technology and other technology personnel statewide. Must have work documented experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Office 2010 and Microsoft Office 2016; as well as work documented experience working with IP and MAC addresses. The ideal candidate will perform work under limited supervision.
The Administrative Services Division is responsible for budgeting, human resources, accounting, information systems and other administrative functions for the approximately 200 employees of the Maine Office of the Attorney General.
REPRESENTATIVE TASKS: (A position may not be assigned all the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all the duties that may be assigned).
Performs a full range of system administration functions in order to control systems and attain maximum utilization and efficiency.
Designs and implements system security measures such as backups, access control, system accounting, and disaster recovery in order to ensure and maintain system integrity and availability.
Participates in the development and implementation of agency information system policy in order to establish agency operating standards and procedures.
Develops, coordinates, and conducts agency-wide training programs in order to provide agency personnel with required skills and knowledge of system capabilities.
Researches, recommends, installs, and configures hardware, software, and networks for PCs/servers with multi-user operating and/or networking systems in order to establish and maintain agency information systems.
Performs fault isolation and repairs in a complex computing/networking environment independently or in consultation with vendor or other technical personnel in order to diagnose and correct system problems.
Participates in the development of internal data management plans and coordinates plans and activities with personnel of other agencies in order to avoid duplication of efforts, share information, and maximize system efficiency.
Participates in the planning, implementation, and management of special projects in order to develop project management skills
