Description
SUMMARY:
Interacts with the Planning Manager to help plan material requirements and scheduling in order to meet delivery commitments to our customers. Interfaces with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Finance and Supply Chain departments. Schedules and releases sub assembly jobs to manufacturing, kitting orders for projects, subassemblies and others to the warehouse, helps configuration team with job creation as needed. Act as an effective and positive change agent, to recommend, and as appropriate, lead the implementation of such methodologies within the organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Material Planning:
· Releases kitting projects to Stockroom, for assemblies (project, SA, kits) to include MOD work orders, rework orders and return (RA) purchase orders to meet latest revision/system requirements and as per schedule
· Reviews minimum on hand quantities and minimum order quantities to balance customer service levels and on hand inventory dollars.
· Works with manufacturing and purchasing to reduce lead time for all products.
· Monitors total raw and consignment inventory and drives inventory reduction activities.
· Monitors inventory shortages and provide feedback to supply chain.
· Reviews sales orders and projects requirements and provide planning support as necessary.
· Creates and releases jobs (work orders) for all production, R&D and spare part order requirements.
· Reviews the existing inventory levels to identify and propose disposition of excess/technically obsolete products.
· Maintains proper parameters and settings within the Epicor material master and planning modules.
Software Requirements:
· Maintains proper parameters and settings within the material master and planning modules
· Uses query design tools to compile custom reports
· Develops, documents and tests new processes and procedures in a software test environment
Engineering:
· Reviews, processes, and implements engineering change orders and configuration changes as required.
· Manages MaxBom for assigned products.
· Recommends and assists in creation/modification of subassemblies for assigned products.
· Facilitates engineering changes ensuring BOMs, work orders, and materials disposition are accurately executed including purchase order (requisition) generation and work order creation as necessary
· Works closely with the Engineering department to ensure proper data and material settings are transferred between Engineering and Epicor
· Identifies and tracks all obsoleted OEM components, corrects material master data and ensures proper BOM structure and data integrity, as necessary with the help of purchasing
Engineering Product Management:
· Participates in daily engineering stand up meeting, reports supply chain bottlenecks associated with purchase order releases: relays all issues to supply chain and follows through disposition
Purchasing:
· Performs weekly material shortage analysis, leads shortage meetings and distributes weekly material needs affecting production to buyers
General:
· Mentors junior team members in all aspects of supply chain
· Performs other duties as may be required

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Associates Degree in Business (or other supply chain related disciplines) is preferred with two (2) years’ experience in manufacturing planning
· Solid working knowledge of MRP systems and planning/analysis in MRP, computer-based environment required.
· Certification (CPIM and/or CIRM) through APICS is desirable
· Lean yellow belt desirable
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, or other technical material
· Basic understanding on ERP or MRP systems
· Ability to communicate effectively interdepartmentally, and externally with vendors and subcontractors
· Strong computer literacy and experienced in Windows-based software: Word, power point, Excel
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· The normal work environment is typical of a business office, manufacturing operation, with clean room facility and support areas such as stockroom and machine shop
The incumbent is routinely required to sit, stand, walk, touch, see, and hear, and may be required to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
