Description

 DRMP has an opening in its headquarters office in Orlando, Florida for the following position:

Professional Engineer Department Head with a minimum of 15 years Stormwater Modeling and Design experience in Florida. Must be a Professional Engineer licensed in the state of Florida.

Your Primary Responsibilities will include

  • Ability to lead, develop and grow a Team of stormwater engineers and provide day to day technical support on stormwater modeling (ICPR4 and EPA SWMM) and water quality components on a variety of municipal stormwater projects around the state of Florida.  
  • Ability to support Transportation related projects with stormwater design and modeling as related to pond siting and sizing, bridge hydraulics and water quality BMP’s.   
  • Fulfilling requirements as Engineer of Record for the study/modeling, design, permitting and construction administration of stormwater projects.
  • Preparation of high quality and accurate presentation, reports, design, details and construction documents.
  • Oversight of the project design team including engineers, designers, sub-consultants and clients.
  • Collaboration with other consulting firms, internal disciplines, project managers, and business development teams.
  • Marketing and Business Development including premarketing meetings with clients, preparation of proposals and presentations to win work.   
  • Development of scope and fee proposals and negotiation skills.   
  • Research, interpretation and implementation of relevant codes and client requirements.
  • Preparation of specifications, review of shop drawings, and construction administration support as Engineer of Record.
  • Periodic travel to perform business development, project management, site investigations, and construction observation. Duty includes preparation or review of subsequent reports and exhibits.
  • Oversight and assistance with compiling construction plans from all disciplines and submittal to agencies having jurisdiction.
  • Oversight and mentoring project Engineers, Designers and Technicians.
  • Review of documents prepared by others and implementation of project quality control.
  • Active Involvement in the Florida Stormwater Association (FSA) or other relevant professional society.   


What you'll need

  • B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering with a P.E. License in the state of Florida. Ability to obtain additional state licensure through reciprocity is a plus.
  • 15+ years of US experience in design and permitting public or private projects.
  • Proficiency in ICPR4 Modeling for Watershed Management Plans and Retrofit projects for primarily municipal clients or agencies.  
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Thorough understanding of project process from concept through construction.
  • Ability to consistently exercise good independent judgement in evaluation and determination of design solutions.
  • Stormwater management, water distribution and sanitary sewer collection system design experience.
  • Effective in providing instruction, teaching and mentoring in a positive and constructive manner on a daily basis in person preferred.  
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
  • Superior social, communication, written and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and work on multiple projects while adhering to project schedules and budgets.
  • Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate project deadlines.
  • Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self-motivated.
