The Opportunity

Denali is seeking a motivated bachelor or graduate student for a Patient Advocacy internship position to gain meaningful experience in advocacy engagement, including communications and policy efforts. This is a great opportunity to work closely with both internal Denali functions and externally with the patient advocacy community across the disease areas of Denali’s focus. These disease communities include rare lysosomal storage disorders, ALS, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to work independently while collaborating with teams on key projects and contribute to our external communication strategies and policy efforts. This individual must be self-driven, organized, collaborative, a strong communicator and have a passion to drive change.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Work under supervision of Denali Director of Advocacy 
  • Through independent research and discussions, support our understanding of disease community’s key stakeholders and influencers
  • Support external and internal communication efforts – social media and digital strategy to engage patient & advocacy community
  • Develop standing processes and internal resources to better equip teams to seek patient/caregiver engagement 

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience preferred
  • Candidates pursuing a communications or health policy career 
  • Energetic, result-driven, self-starter who enjoys engaging teams

The expected wage for this position based on the South San Francisco California office location is $20.96 per hour for BA/BS.  Paid holiday time off is based on Denali's designated holidays.  Interns who live more than 50 miles away from the office are eligible for an additional housing stipend.
