As a Manager, Electrical Engineering – New Product Introduction within IMS Sensing & Controls, you will provide direct leadership for your team and be a contributing electrical engineer. What You Will Do:
- Manage the junior level team members and work to identify skills and development needs and enact plans for them to grow and develop their skills within the team
- Coordinating the following for each direct report: work assignments, mentoring/guidance, career development, timecards, workflows, one on one meetings, performance evaluations, and salary plans
- Work with the Senior Manager to review the Electrical Discipline Health Assessment/Skills Matrix, identify skills/tools gaps/needs and develop/provide training as required
- Set objectives and guide others on execution/approach for achievement of operational results
- Work with the Chief’s Office to support improvement activities
- Design, development, and analysis of analog & digital circuits including: microprocessors, microcontrollers, DSPs, FPGAs, sensor interfaces, signal conditioning, motor controllers, linear and switching power supplies
- Perform analysis tasks including: power, timing, accuracy/tolerance, stability, EMI compatibility, derating, reliability, safety, and requirements traceability
- Create documentation including hardware design plans, technical requirements, functional specifications, design specifications, qualification test plans and reports
- Support current production designs including quality improvements, cost reduction, component obsolescence and failure analysis
- Evaluate and approve electronic components to meet requirements for availability, performance and cost
- Support proposal/project planning efforts and ensure execution to schedule and budget
- Evaluate failures to determine root cause and corrective actions
- Support engineering/production hardware validation/verification
- Apply knowledge of tolerance analysis, simulation and statistical methods to improve robustness and quality of electronic designs
- Support all phases of the design, qualification, and manufacturing processes
- Apply design practices with consideration for system level performance, EMC/EMI bonding and grounding methods
- Organizing and participating in design reviews
- Provide input and support the implementation of Lessons Learned activities
