About the role

Nemours is seeking a Respiratory Clinical Instructor/Patient Educator to join our Nemours Children's Health team in the Delaware Valley.

 

This position is responsible for: The coordination of the orientation, in-service training, and the continuing education of the respiratory care staff and students.

  • Provide age and developmental-appropriate care to infants, children, adolescents, and adults.
  • Maintain clinical competency in all aspects of routine and advanced respiratory care provided by the department.
  • Provide direct patient care as required, based upon patient acuity and staffing levels.
  • Design, develop, implement, and evaluate in-service educational programs for the respiratory care personnel based upon services and quality improvement monitoring.
  • Design, develop, implement, and evaluate in-service and educational programs for the technical and professional staff in coordination with the Medical Director of Respiratory Care, Director of Respiratory Care, and Assistant Director of Respiratory Care.
  • Schedule and provide in-services to all shifts as required to meet the educational and in-service requirements for the respiratory care personnel.

Qualifications:

1. Successful completion of the Registered Respiratory Therapist (R.R.T.) Examination

2. Successful completion of an Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Care, or equivalent, is required. Bachelor and/or Master Degree is preferred.

3. Minimum of three (3) year’s experience in the field of respiratory care; minimum of one (1) year experience in the care of Perinatal/Pediatrics is required, Minimum of one (1) year experience with a Quality Assessment and Improvement program or activity is preferred, Minimum of one (1) year experience with reengineering, redesign, or process improvement is preferred, Minimum of one (1) year teaching experience is required.

Licenses, Registrations, Certifications:

1. Active R.R.T. Registration is required.

2. Active Delaware License is required.

3. Active or successful completion of Instructor of BLS.

4. Completion of PALS certification is preferred.

5. Successful completion of the Perinatal/Pediatric Specialty Exam offered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required.
