On-Call Administrative Support Specialist

This role offers a mix of short- and long-term (up to 90 days) assignments, with both full- and part-time opportunities available. We’re seeking adaptable professionals who thrive in flexible schedules and enjoy taking on a variety of responsibilities.

• Provide administrative and clerical support across departments.

• Assist with scheduling, correspondence, and documentation.

• Contribute to the smooth operation of scientific and operational teams.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in administrative, secretarial, or clerical roles with transferable skills.

• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability and eagerness to learn new systems such as SharePoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2–4 years of administrative/secretarial experience.

• Familiarity with PeopleSoft (highly desirable).

• Experience coordinating complex travel arrangements.

• Associate’s degree in Secretarial Science or equivalent.

Brookhaven National Laboratory is committed to providing fair, equitable and competitive compensation. The full salary range for this position is $16.60- $23.90 / hour. Salary offers will be commensurate with the final candidate’s qualification, education and experience and considered with the internal peer group.
