About the role

Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change,  based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.  

The IT Transformation Manager is responsible for driving the successful transformation of the current Application Services delivery into a Product Based delivery model supported by DevSecOps and Scaled Agile practices. The Transformation Manager supports executive leadership in the establishment of transformation vision, outcomes, and roadmap. Establishes transformation program structure, operations, and governance processes. Leads the day-to-day delivery of the transformation program, including governance/cadence, integrated roadmap, and cross-workstream planning and alignment. Manages risks, issues, and dependencies; drives escalations and decisioning. Provides executive-ready status reporting ensuring visibility of progress and outcomes and timely decisions.

Essential Functions: 

•    Own the integrated transformation plan and roadmap; sequence initiatives, manage dependencies, and align change management timelines with Eversource business priorities.

•   Establish and run transformation governance cadence and ensure decisions are documented and actioned.

•   Enable organizational readiness by mobilizing the right leaders and teams, confirming role clarity, and removing barriers to execution.

•   Coordinate with IT leadership and transformation workstream leads to balance transformation progress with current business/IT project delivery commitments and operational stability.

•   Align stakeholders across the organization (e.g., Business, IT, Security, Architecture, external vendors) to ensure consistent direction, design authority, and timely decisions.

•   Lead transformation program management activities (e.g., status, RAID, integrated milestones) and produce executive-ready progress reporting focused on outcomes and value.

•   Define and track success measures (value, delivery, adoption) and ensure transparency on progress versus targets.

•   Drive issue, risk, and decision management; resolve items rapidly with peers and escalate unresolved items through the agreed escalation path.

•   Ensure transformation impediments are addressed promptly and handled through the agreed resolution mechanism.

  • Lead complex, multi-workstream programs with operating model change and demonstrate strong governance, planning discipline, and outcome-based reporting.

  • Make fast, well-informed trade-off decisions and communicate crisply with executives.

  • Influence across organization and align stakeholders with competing priorities.

  • Build transformation momentum through clear priorities, measurable milestones, and active impediment removal.

  • Demonstrated experience running large-scale IT transformations or enterprise programs with complex release planning and interdependencies.

  • Strong program/portfolio management capability and comfort operating through formal governance and escalation structures.

Education:        

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related technical discipline or related experience.

  • Advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of ten (10) to twelve (12) years of experience in IT transformation, program management, product delivery, or DevOps leadership roles or similar
