Description
The department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Creighton University invites applications for a full-time, continuing, non-tenure-track teaching assistant professor appointment beginning in August 2026. The successful applicant will be expected to teach and coordinate the nursing chemistry lectures and laboratory (CHM 111-113) and potentially contribute to the general chemistry sequence (CHM 102, 202-206). A typical load is four courses per semester.
Qualifications
- MS in chemistry, biochemistry, or closely related field is required, and a PhD is preferred
- Demonstrated promise in the classroom
- Additional postdoctoral training or experience is strongly preferred
- Ability to foster student learning, development, and decision making in support of their goals, success, wellness, and needs
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and effectively with a diversity of populations
- Empathy and compassion for the experiences of others
