Job Summary:
In this role, you will support the Sr. EHS Manager in developing and implementing training, programs, and procedures aimed at maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. The EHS Specialist will focus on waste management, risk assessments, incident investigations, and supporting environmental and safety compliance across the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- EHS Training & Development: Assist in developing and implementing EHS training programs at all organizational levels to ensure awareness and compliance.
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Create and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for environmental, health, and safety practices.
- Workers' Compensation Program: Support and enhance the management of the Workers' Compensation Program to ensure proper handling of claims and injury prevention.
- Proactive Safety & Health Programs: Develop and implement proactive safety and health programs to mitigate workplace risks and enhance employee well-being.
- Waste Management: Oversee the collection, disposal, and management of hazardous, non-hazardous, and biomedical waste, working closely with approved vendors. Advocate for waste minimization and cost-saving initiatives.
- Industrial Hygiene & Testing: Schedule, coordinate, and track periodic industrial hygiene, safety, and environmental testing and sampling.
- Risk Assessments: Conduct risk assessments of chemicals, equipment, and operations to recommend engineering controls, work practices, and personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
- EHS Documentation Management: Ensure accurate and up-to-date EHS documentation, in compliance with regulatory record-keeping requirements.
- Behavior-Based Observation Programs: Lead and drive the integration of behavior-based safety programs to ensure continuous improvement in risk management and injury reduction.
- Incident Investigations: Lead the incident investigation process to ensure thorough analysis and effective corrective actions are implemented.
- First Aid Program Management: Lead the First Aid team and support continuous improvement of First Aid/AED/Spill Kit inspections and procedures.
- Permit Compliance: Maintain knowledge of relevant site permits (air, industrial wastewater, stormwater, etc.) and ensure compliance with permit conditions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the EHS representative for new processes, equipment introductions, capacity expansions, and facility changes, ensuring EHS compliance throughout.
- Regulatory Audits & Inspections: Represent EHS during compliance audits and regulatory inspections, ensuring all necessary documentation and procedures are in place.
- Regulatory Reporting: Prepare and submit required regulatory reports, including Biennial Hazardous Waste, EPCRA, AOR, and others.
- Job Hazard Analysis (JHA): Conduct and document Job Hazard Analyses to identify and mitigate potential risks in various operations.

Qualifications
Education:
- High School diploma required, Associates or Bachelors degree preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in occupational safety, health, or environmental ma
