DEFINITION:
Mobile Crisis Response Team provides community-based crisis services that deliver solution-focused and recovery-oriented behavioral health assessments and stabilization of crisis in the location where the individual is experiencing the crisis. Our program is focused on strong collaborations with law enforcement, mobile crisis response, risk assessment, in-person or tele health intervention, and case management. This position is designated as an essential position and the employee’s presence at work is required to assist the agency and/or division in meeting its operational needs. This program requires coverage 24 hours, 7 days a week.
SUPERVISION: The position is supervised by the Program Supervisor or other member of the management team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include, but are not limited to:
- Provides in- person and tele-medicine crisis intervention as a part of multidisciplinary team serving individuals of all ages experiencing mental health crisis to determine the need for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization.
- Responds to crisis calls from multiple referral sources including by not limited to NorthCare Crisis line, First Responder IPAD, and 988 dispatch.
- Mobile response must be delivered within 60 minutes from received request in urban areas and within 2 hours in rural area.
- Promotes a warm and engaging organizational culture that values trauma informed care, and health and wellness.
- Provides services that are welcoming, engaging and accessible.
- Follows Champion’s protocol for communication during dispatch.
- Coordinates legal intervention, outreach, and referrals to services to ensure continuity of care.
- Any services that result in assisting clients in crisis must be documented in Avatar within 24 hours.
- Follow up with consumers within 24 hours after the crisis to ensure safety.
- Consults with clinical leadership as needed to assist in risk management and clinical dispositions.
- Provides holiday coverage during scheduled week hours with the exception of paid time off approved by the Supervisor.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to):
- Responds to e-mails and complete all outstanding corrections within 24 hours.
- Attend weekly administrative supervision.
- Attends meetings and trainings required by the program.
- Maintains required credentialing including but not limited to licensure or under supervision status.
- Maintains consistent work attendance and contact supervisor by phone for needed late arrivals or absences.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Master's Degree in a Behavioral Social Science field (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LADC-MH) with professional licensure or eligibility to go under supervision for profession required. This position requires a high degree of flexibility and efficiency. Must display proficiency in the MS Word processing software and intermediate general computer skills. 1 year of experience in the mental health field required. Crisis management experience preferred.
