Job Description

DataBridge is the backend engine powering the Merkury platform, connecting Merkle's people-based insights to the digital advertising ecosystem. The Software Developer will report to the Senior Director, Software Engineering and work with a hybrid team of remote and offshore developers to improve Merkle's capabilities in the AdTech space using Agile project management practices.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Code, build and test Java applications using modern CI/CD tools: Git/Bitbucket, Maven, Docker & Jenkins.
  • Test and debug system integrations using Java, Python, and shell scripting.
  • Manage AWS/cloud services: Beanstalk, Load Balancers, EKS, and Lambda.
  • Estimate time, cost, and complexity for feature requests and maintenance.
  • Analyze data – validate correctness, identify anomalies, identify trends - at multiple stages using SQL queries.
  • Improve tech stack and infrastructure concerning security, performance, and cost.
  • Pair with junior developers to demonstrate best practices and share domain knowledge.
  • Independently research and prototype new tech or services as they become available.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent education and work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with Java in a software development role.
  • Scripting experience using Python or similar a plus.
  • Experience working in Agile teams a plus.
  • Analytical skills using SQL and Excel. Identify and visualize data anomalies.
  • Experience using AWS or similar cloud services and best practices.

Additional Information:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $68,000 - $106,000. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law.
