About the role
WEG Electric Corp. has an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Project Manager You will be responsible for the full life-cycle project management of multiple large projects involving motors, drives, generators, controls and protection systems, from the time of the order entry until the installation and final acceptance by the customer.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review Purchase Order / Contract requirements.
- Creates orders in the system, generating the requirements to the manufacturing facilities.
- Ensures necessary support is obtained from manufacturing facilities and support areas to meet customer deliveries.
- Serves as the main point of contact for the customer.
- Keeps upper management informed of orders progression and highlights any major concerns or risks, issues or opportunities as they arise.
- Makes customer and vendor visits as required.
- Identifies and monitor any changes to the scope for work.
- Processes change orders and ensures approval from internal areas and the customer.
- Verifies shipping terms, method and details with logistics.
- Initiates invoices with the Finance dept for progress / milestone payments.
- Ensures the Company's commercial and contractual position is not compromised.
- Conducts the Hand-Over process with the sales team.
- Schedules and conducts the Kick-Off meetings (internal and with the customer).
- Creates and maintains the Project Plan.
- Communicates the Project Plan to management and project team members.
- Establishes and agrees on a schedule of activities leading to the completion of the contract with clear milestones, deliverables and acceptance criteria.
- Conducts progress and financial reviews.
- Ensures proper and timely revenue recognition on projects.
- Manages complex power generation and medium voltage drives projects.
- Manages third party vendors.
- Defines project risk response plans.
- Conducts corrective and preventative action plans.

Education: (minimum education or equivalent in relevant experience)
- Associate's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
- Bachelor's in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline preferred.
- PMP certification is desired.
Knowledge
- Strong working knowledge of electrical industrial equipment including power electronics and rotating machines and how these work as a system.
- Knowledge of basic industry standards such as; NEMA, IEC, IEEE, UL, etc.
- Solid Microsoft office knowledge is required.
- Experience with SAP is highly desirable.
- Proven capabilities in the Energy industry in roles related to project engineering.
