About the role

    What will you do?

    The Senior Data Analyst (Supply Chain/Logistics) is a key member of the Supply Chain Logistics team and will support the development and execution of product flow and fulfillment analytics to support decision-making across the VF Supply Chain and brands. A heavy emphasis will be on outbound logistics data warehousing, data structure, advanced analytics, reporting and support inbound logistics analytics and reporting.

    This individual will operate across a highly matrixed, multinational organization supporting the Americas’ analytics team and help drive the organization's strategic advantage through more in-depth analyses (e.g. descriptive statistics, segmentation, trend analysis, forecasting etc.).

    This individual will consult with the Logistics team and various VF functional areas (Global Logistics Procurement, Supply Chain Finance, DC Fulfilment, and various front-end teams) to assess and address information needs, and for managing, analyzing, and synthesizing data into insights to influence decisions and action planning.

    He/she has an inherent passion for data and data-driven thinking, is adept at extracting patterns from volumes of data to drive strategy and operational efficiencies.

    He/she will lead analytical efforts related to product flow and order fulfillment, network optimization, and various other areas within the Supply Chain to help drive our businesses. Additionally, he/she will be tasked with working with key stakeholders to build out the analytic capabilities within VF Corporate and Brand teams.

    Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

    Drive an analytics focused culture within Supply Chain and within the brands across global regions across both inbound and outbound flows.

    Brand Consulting: Perform ongoing advanced analytical projects in support of brand strategies and tactics. Topics will include, but not limited to, network optimization, cost and service impact analysis, ROI analysis. Present, explain and discuss results of analyses concisely and effectively to drive fact-based decision making at all levels within the organization.

    Support BI Reporting: In collaboration with brands and Direct-to-Consumer leadership, support the development of BI dashboard to highlight KPI’s across brands, global regions, and channels. Work will include multi-source data integration and development in BI tool (Tableau and Power BI).

    Data Infrastructure: In collaboration with IT teams and Data Governance, provide technical leadership for analytics projects making recommendations for data architecture Strategy.

    Tool Assessment: Develop and deploy analytical tools and data science techniques to analyze complex data sets.

    Support Process Improvement: Bring industry best practices to analytics processes to create time efficiencies so team can broaden efforts to other focus areas.

    Monitor trends in data science and alternative sources to ensure that VF Corporation is in tune with best-in-class tools and techniques.

    What do you need to succeed?

Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 3+ years of experience and professional achievements.

    The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

    • 5+ years of analytics, insights, and data management (MDM) experience

    • 3+ years of experience with Tableau, Power BI, and/or other data visualization software

    • 3+ years of experience with statistical data modeling and analytical methodology including regression, classification, clustering, time-series analysis etc.

    • Advanced knowledge of Excel and strong presentation skills

    • BA/BS required; master’s degree in a quantitative field (analytics, statistics, operations research, mathematics, computer science, economics) from an accredited university is desirable.

    • High level of analytical and negotiating skills as evidenced by high intelligence, strong financial and analytical capabilities.

    • Strong understanding of Supply Chain best practices and trends helpful but not required.

    • Ability to influence and work through others to effectively navigate matrixed organization while ensuring that necessary stakeholders are informed.

    • Strong communication skills - written and verbal.

    • Ability to simplify highly complex analyses and output into terms that are easily accessible and impactful in both written and verbal formats.
