About the role

The Research Infusion Nurse (RN) administers infusion therapies, high-risk treatments, and investigational products while ensuring patient safety, accurate monitoring, and adherence to protocols. Responsibilities include vascular access, health assessments, managing adverse effects, and maintaining detailed records

Job Duties:

• Competently performs IV infusions of investigational and FDA approved products.
• Competently performs subcutaneous injections of investigational products.
• Administers approved and investigational products orally.
• Continuously evaluates patient’s response to treatment. Alerts appropriate members of health care and/or research team to any abnormalities or problems associated with the patient’s response to research protocols.
• Will have direct patient contact to administer medications, obtain specimens, and perform EKG’s or other related functions as appropriate for the specific studies as assigned.
• Collects and enters data into both paper and electronic databases
• Possesses and maintains Rhode Island Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Possesses and maintains BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Obtain and maintain appropriate Human Subjects Protection and Good Clinical Practice trainings.
• Maintains regular contact with patient and members of the health care team to monitor adherence to protocol, continuously reviewing patient records and data collection sheets, alerting investigator when laboratory studies, follow-up data, etc. are due.
• Maintains and enhances professional expertise through participation in appropriate educational activities.
• Perform other nursing duties in the Memory Clinic or Infusion Suite as assigned.


Education:

BSN in Nursing required. Minimum of 1-3 years experience. RI State license required and BLS Certification

Schedule: 20/40 Part Time Days
