Position Overview:

Observe all Puratos GMP’s, Sop’s, and SQF standards.  Operate all manual, automatic and or material handling equipment, safely and efficiently, while maintaining high quality standards that meet or exceed Puratos and customer requirements.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Basic tasks

• Must be able to safely work with automated industrial equipment, including operation, change over and basic maintenance.
• Report all food safety and quality issues to immediate Supervisor and / Quality technician.  Immediately report any safety issues to the supervisor, maintenance or management.  
• Responsible for the overall safety, quality, and efficiency of their work center
• Comply with all company SOP’s  (specific SOP’s particular for Job), GMP’s, and SQF  (specify regulations)
• Always maintain a neat and sanitary work area (refer to pictures or additional details)
• Reporting unsafe situations, near misses, safety incidents
• Reporting quality incidents (foreign material, contamination, etc.)
• Must conform to Puratos dress code and personal protective equipment policies
• Perform any other duties as instructed by the management

Position Specific

• Operate Packing line per SOP instructions
• Ensure the Line is sanitized using specified CIP procedures
• Apply product specific labels and best by labeling
• Verify product and production labels are correct
• Palletize pails/drums per Puratos product specific requirements
• Use SAP system for recording production.
• Completing the consumptions of the Raw Materials in the Process Orders in SAP
• Backup for the operators (covering call outs, vacations, etc.)
• Covering the breaks of the operators
• Ensure all the operators are following the LOTO procedure
• Completing the pre-flight check list

 

Competencies/Profile:

• Education experience
  • A high school degree is required for this position

 

Required job related knowledge, skills and abilities:

Basic tasks

• Must complete skill assessments with passing scores as defined by Puratos
• Must be able to use production computer screens as instructed.  Must be able to have basic computer literacy  and understanding of operating system
• Must demonstrate the ability to communicate both verbal and in written form in English.
• Must demonstrate the ability to read and understand system instruction and training materials and show the ability to execute.
• Must be able to work overtime when mandated in accordance with the contract
• Must be able to follow instructions.
• Must have passed company physical
• Must be able to lift 50 lb bags without help

Position specific

• Attendance record must be in good standing, less than 3 points.
• Must be able to learn computer systems and use of scanning technology
• Must demonstrate specific prior experience that is directly pertinent to the skills required and operation involved.
• Must be able to perform all job functions pertinent to the process
