About the role

Tidal Financial Group is seeking a versatile Data Scientist to build data solutions and deliver actionable insights, with a special focus on ETFs and other financial products. This position requires a strong foundation in software development, data engineering, and analytics—particularly in Python, SQL, Bloomberg, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Snowflake). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data within the financial industry, pay close attention to detail, and leverage BI tools like Sigma or Power BI to turn complex datasets into clear, data-driven strategies that optimize business performance.

What you'll do

Cloud Architecture:

Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Python, SQL, Bloomberg API, and cloud platforms (AWS, Snowflake).

Ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance by implementing comprehensive data governance frameworks, best practices, and validation methods, building processes to continuously check data correctness at every stage and maintain regulatory standards.

Set up and maintain data models, databases, and ETL/ELT processes, ensuring efficient data flow and processing.

Implement Snowflake pipelines to manage large volumes of data, optimize performance, and streamline storage.

Build intuitive, interactive dashboards and visualizations with Sigma, Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools, transforming raw data into actionable insights.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, operations, product) to gather requirements and deliver meaningful reports.

Apply statistical methods and machine learning techniques to identify patterns, forecast trends, and enhance business outcomes.

Ensure data quality, security, and compliance, following best practices and governance standards.

·Experience designing, deploying, and managing scalable, secure, and cost-optimized cloud solutions.

· Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager (ARM).

Design and maintain scalable, cloud-based data pipelines and architectures using Snowflake or similar data lake technologies.

Analyze financial datasets, with a focus on ETFs, to detect trends, generate insights, and support decision-making.

Develop and optimize SQL queries, ensuring efficient database operations and data integrity.

Build and maintain dashboards and data visualizations to support real-time business insights.

Provide recommendations based on analysis to business stakeholders and leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Technical Expertise:

• Skilled in Python for both software development and data analysis
• Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and data warehousing
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), Snowflake and Bloomberg
• Familiarity with ETL frameworks, APIs, and data integration techniques
• Background in building dashboards and visualizations using BI tools (e.g., Sigma, Power BI)
• Strong understanding of financial industry data, especially ETFs
