Summary of the Position:
In line with plans to build out their industrial business, Tishman Speyer is seeking a Director/Senior Director, Acquisitions to lead East Coast industrial investments. The successful candidate will source, negotiate and manage the roll-out of Tishman Speyer’s industrial investment strategy, focusing across the risk/return spectrum, from development to value-add and core/core plus acquisition opportunities.
The successful candidate will bring a thoughtful and responsive approach to working with the various key stakeholders within Tishman Speyer to help build and scale the industrial portfolio. This leader will report into the Head of Industrial and be based in New York City.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and source potential investment opportunities (primarily core+ acquisitions and development/redevelopment) in line with Tishman Speyer’s existing fund products and/or co-investment partnerships.
Prioritize investment markets working with key stakeholders within the national and regional investment and development teams.
Execute transactions through the transaction cycle and work with internal and external parties to ensure compliance and appropriate risk management through all phases of acquisition sourcing, analysis, market underwriting, due-diligence, financing, asset management and disposition.
Support portfolio management and reporting processes with internal and external parties.
Review legal documents and coordinate with legal counsel to help negotiate transaction documents and purchase and sale agreements.
Maintain an active presence in the target industrial real estate markets by leveraging existing relationships and building new ones for the firm. Cultivate and maintain relationships with local municipal officials, brokers, sellers, tenants, advisors, banks, LPs, and consultants to support the pipeline and execute transactions in a credible manner.
Maintain a current market outlook. Monitor the market conditions, evolution of the competitor landscape, investment products and trends in industrial investing to develop strategic and tactical investment recommendations. Collaborate with key stakeholders and coordinate closely with the regional teams to leverage and bring best-in-class practices.
Rigorously test potential investment opportunities and articulate a strong investment case to ensure alignment and buy-in with Tishman Speyer leadership.
Serve as a team player across the organization. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and talented team that focuses on best-in class investment and execution across regions and product types. They will work closely with Tishman Speyer employees across the globe to ensure that current and prospective partners and investors receive best-in-class client service as well as timely information and analyses.
Skills & Qualifications:
10+ years of investment experience at a real estate investment management platform, private equity firm, investment trust, or owner/operator/developer.
Deep knowledge and understanding of the industrial real estate market. Experience and track record of sourcing and investing across opportunistic through core assets
