Title: Associate Director, Podcast Strategy

Location: New York, NY (Full Time, On-Site)

Reports to: Chief Digital Officer and VP, Creative & Marketing

The Role:

Roc Nation, a Live Nation joint venture, is seeking an Associate Director, Podcast Strategy to be the point person for all things podcasts. A successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, highly organized, and able to take the lead in ideating, producing/executing shows, implementing strategic goals, growing and engaging audiences, as well as developing new concepts for Roc Nation podcasts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main point of contact on podcast campaigns, for both internal and external stakeholders, creating and fostering a communication forum.

  • Manage the full campaign life cycle including pre-production, pre-launch, launch, and campaign end

  • Work with the creative team to produce all assets, marketing materials, episode details, etc., Review and approve final drafts, layouts, designs, etc

  • Develop and execute marketing plans for the campaign across all channels, manage podcast distribution

  • Analyze and monitor performance and provide feedback to improve

  • Project Management: Provide outstanding client service and communication at every stage of the project journey. This entails organizing client-facing meetings, crafting project timelines, managing approvals and deliverables, monitoring campaign performance against KPIs, and overseeing budget reconciliation

  • Client Relations: Provide outstanding client service and communication at every stage of the project journey. Liaison with clients and partners about launches, updates, and new initiatives. Work cross-functionally with podcast production and management teams. Managing client expectations around timelines and launch dates. 

  • Liaison with clients around timelines and expectations to ensure deliverable are on track and campaigns are launching on time

  • Work in tandem with Roc Nation legal to negotiate contracts with talent, vendors, freelancers, service providers, etc

  • Marketing & Content Strategy: Develop and execute digital marketing strategies to grow podcast awareness, audience engagement, and following through activations, collaborations with partners, etc

  • Define and implement editorial strategy and content calendar

  • Deep understanding of cultural trends within music, arts, and entertainment to identify storylines and create actionable strategy

  • Work with Creative Director and Roc Nation leadership to define the overall tone of voice channels

  • Oversee planning, creation, and publication of content across all mediums and platforms to ensure accuracy and cultural relevance

  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in podcasting to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage

  • Identify and pursue key cultural collaborations and promotional opportunities that feed into larger brand narrative and editorial strategy

  • Reporting and Analytics: Manage podcast analytics and monitor podcast performance on a routine basis to report with the internal Data and Analytics team. Provide success metrics and insights to recognize successes and advance the digital agenda

  • Create formal presentations that highlight performance, audience insights, predictions, and recommendations for future podcasts for internal teams and clients

  • Monitor and evaluate audience feedback, analytics, and market trends as it pertains to holistic editorial and marketing strategies

  • Devise relevant and reach KPIs, regularly track and report on performance data across all platforms and mediums

  • Team Building/Management: Source, interview and hire writers, creatives, and support staff. Collaborate to maximize content development and performance. Develop and manage budgets, and allocation of resources

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of combined work experience in podcasting, digital content, a creative agency, music, entertainment, project management, or a social media platform

  • In-depth understanding of podcasting, creative arts, digital media, content creation, industry trends, and new technologies

  • Extensive knowledge and passion for the podcast industry and best practices for podcast audience growth
