WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The Accounting Coordinator will be responsible for the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions for the Recording Academy, Inc., Grammy Global Ventures, LLC. and NARAS Properties, Inc. You hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related business field. You are a self-motivated team player with interest in pursuing a career in the Accounting field.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Review invoices to ensure proper approvals and general ledger coding.
- Set-up and maintain vendor and customer records.
- Process weekly check runs.
- File paper invoices and vouchers, scanning them into the accounting system via PaperSave.
- Maintain filing system.
- Mail and distribute checks.
- Assist AP/AR Supervisor with researching accounts payable discrepancies.
- Provide customer services to various departments and affiliated entities as it relates to accounts payable.
- Provide extensive research assistance to Member Services and all other departments as needed.
- Assist with performing month-end and year-end closing as needed.
- Maintain 1099 Files for the appropriate vendors.
- Provides daily various accounts payable reports as requested.
- Reconcile assigned GL accounts.
- Ensure effective communication with all customers and vendors, both internally and externally.
- Periodically cross train with other members of the Finance & Accounting department.
- Research and input cash receipts data into Workday.
- Maintain billing and collection practices for accounts receivable.
- Research and resolve customer credit card disputes through American Express and Merchant Services.
- Assist in interpreting and resolving accounts payable issues with vendors and accounts receivable issues with clients.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and well-organized electronic files of AP/AR records.
- Work events for the Recording Academy and its related entities.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Four-year college degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related business field required.
- Previous experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general bookkeeping a plus.
- Non-profit and entertainment industry a plus.
- Workday experience a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office with strong working knowledge of Excel.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with staff at all levels in a professional manner.
- Attention to detail with solid grammar and punctuation skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-moving environment with strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts with accuracy.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
The starting rate for this position is $22.26 to $24.26 per hour, benchmarked against industry standards. Rates for positions required to be in specific geographic locations reflect the corresponding labor market.
