Duties and Responsibilities
Network Design and Implementation:
- Design and deploy scalable and efficient network solutions to meet business needs.
- Configure and install network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
Security Management:
- Implement and manage network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Configure and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
Technical Leadership and Mentorship:
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and team members.
- Mentor and coach less experienced staff in technical skills and best practices.
- Conduct knowledge sharing sessions and contribute to team skill development.
Advanced Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution:
- Investigate and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues.
- Troubleshoot escalated problems from junior engineers, other IT teams, or end-users.
- Analyze system logs, performance metrics, and other diagnostic tools for root cause analysis.
Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
- Monitor network performance using various diagnostic tools and address any issues promptly.
- Troubleshoot network problems and implement solutions to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Project Management and Planning:
- Lead and manage IT projects, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, vendors, and other departments for project execution.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet technical requirements.
Documentation and Knowledge Management:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Update knowledge base articles and technical documentation.
- Ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to team members.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and innovation.
- Implement solutions to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures.
- Test and validate disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.
- Participate in incident response and recovery efforts during network outages or emergencies.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate degree or bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, preferred; or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience
- Minimum of 4 years of working experience in a management-level IT position within a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise network architecture including WAN/LAN, data center, cloud networking, SD-WAN, and core infrastructure technologies.
- Knowledge of network security principles including segmentation, firewalls, IDS/IPS, secure connectivity, and disaster recovery/business continuity practices.
- Ability to design, implement, and optimize complex network environments with focus on performance, scalability, QoS, and capacity planning.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose complex network issues, interpret performance data, and implement root-cause solutions.
- Ability to lead technical initiatives, collaborate across IT/business teams, and effectively communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to support operational governance including documentation, metrics/reporting, vendor evaluation, and long-term network strategy execution.
