Job Description

Cash App is building a new Program Management Team within the Counsel organization and is looking for an experienced Program Management leader to spearhead our examination/audit management and external inquiry efforts. 

You will join the Cash Legal organization, report to the Cash General Counsel, and work closely with the Head of Regulatory Counsel. You will partner directly with senior leaders across Cash App and Block to create visibility into current and future examinations. You will also partner with the Cash talent team to develop our staffing strategy for this new team, as well as operational leaders to define the partnership model that drives successful outcomes in our examinations, audits and other external inquiries. We are looking for someone who will thrive in our fast paced environment, has experience building and leading high-performing teams, and is capable of operating at a detailed level. 

You will, under the direction of the Cash App General Counsel and Head of Regulatory:

  • Lead, build and develop a global Program Management Team focused on regulatory examination, audit and external request management.
  • Be accountable for our external request responses program (XRQ), Cash App’s centralized program for external request intake, response, QA and delivery.
  • Be responsible for overseeing license and registration applications and maintenance for our Money Services Business, including virtual currency activities. 
  • Be accountable for the full regulatory examination process including pre-exam responses, on and offsite exam sessions and post examination management action plans.
  • Partner, build trust, and collaborate closely with senior product, business, and engineering leads to develop a cross-functional exam management infrastructure. 
  • Effectively communicate your team’s work with senior leadership and the executive team on a regular basis.
  • Help drive clarity and efficiency by designing your team to meet the needs of the business.
  • Provide coaching and support for program and project managers across your team.
  • Help shape the entire company’s examination and audit management strategy.

Qualifications

You have:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a managing regulatory examinations and inquiries 
  • Team management, 3 years experience preferred
  • Direct experience and working knowledge of money transmitter licensing and regulation, including virtual currency licensing and regulation 
  • Direct experience working with state or federal regulators 
  • The ability to meet deliverables on time and work in an evolving environment that is prone to changes

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $296,600 - USD $362,500
Zone B: USD $296,600 - USD $362,500
Zone C: USD $296,600 - USD $362,500
Zone D: USD $296,600 - USD $362,500
