The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Description
- Provides infrastructure solutions, operational support, and problem resolution for large systems.
- Design and implementation of enterprise scale private cloud infrastructure.
- Develop various migration methodologies between on premises datacenters, public clouds.
- Develops effective, defect free source code that meets business requirements and team standards.
- Interacts with Software Product and Infrastructure teams to gather and define user stories.
- Performs Quality Assurance coding and design, reviews defects or discrepancies in requirements identified and resolved with appropriate Product Owners and application Software Developers.
- Monitors system performance and capacity reports changes in usage.
- Depicts highly complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences.
- Participates in site set-up, user training, hardware/software installation, maintenance, support and documentation of hardware/software logs and operating procedures.
- Develops test scripts.
- Analyzes user stories for validity and feasibility.
- Plans work out appropriately, proactively escalates issues that may impact scope, schedule, budget.
- May participate in Agile Ceremonies including demos and retros.
- Mentors new developers and junior developers.
- Identifies and recommends appropriate continuous improvement opportunities.
- Travel required up to 10%. Telecommuting permitted up to 100%.
Qualifications
Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field followed by five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in a Principal Infrastructure Engineer-related occupation.
Position requires the following certifications:
Position additionally requires 60 months of experience in the following:
- Developing effective source code.
- Computer languages including C and C+, memory programing, error detection, programmable control timers, logic distribution among microcomputer devices, source and object-oriented programming, assembly language.
- DELL server, storage products and offerings including VxRail servers, VxRack SDDC, and management layers VxRail Manager.
- Proficient in setup of public and private cloud compute, storage, and network stacks for application needs and skillful with Data center migration methodologies for containers and VM workloads.
- Server, network and storage virtualization techniques specific to VMware offerings of vSphere, ESXi, NSX, vSAN, vCenter server, Cloud foundation, vRealize orchestrator.
- Lifecycle upgrades and Automation of routine operational tasks using VMware and server hardware vendor provided SDK for server and VMware related products.
- Identifying errors in program logic, machine codes, and execution for debugging and developing a defect free code.
- Extensive knowledge about private and public cloud infrastructure to be consumed as IAAS and PAAS models.
- Working with various operating systems including windows Linux, and docker.
- Kubernetes orchestration tools, hybrid and public cloud technologies.
- Knowledge in Git and its wide variety of commands to maintain source code in a repository.
- Visual Studio code.
- Analyzing many data points for performing data modelling and data visualization tools.
- Designing and implementing short and long-term strategic goals for managing and maintaining systems and software.
- Utilizing Agile methodology to have an iterative approach to project management and software development that helps teams deliver product in time and with best quality.
- Conducting research on new technologies in the field of systems development, and creating and developing plans for investing in systems that will increase cost effectiveness and flexibility.
- Travel required up to 10%. Telecommuting permitted up to 100%.
