Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure all safety guidelines are met within Procurement Department to accomplish site safety goals
  • Coordinate multi-site purchasing activities, including contract negotiation, supplier selection and supplier development 
  • Meet Eastman objectives, especially for cost savings, through effective purchasing negotiations for manufacturing goods and services
  • Manage and track Procurement operations and supplier metrics
  • Assure site procurement operations meet internal guidelines, SOX requirements and external and legal requirements
  • Manage packaging contracts and ensure suppliers provide quality, reliable, cost-effective materials
  • Review contracts and commercial terms
  • Provide oversight for the processing of orders on a timely basis
  • Lead and serve on cross-functional teams to drive site and Corporate goals
  • Effectively communicate site needs with key leadership
  • Develop relationships with small sites and Corporate in order to share best practices and leverage spend opportunities
  • Set priorities for and coach team members to meet objectives

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. Disciplines preferred include Supply Chain, Purchasing, Logistics, Business, Accounting, Engineering or other technical fields 
  • Previous procurement experience preferred either in business, supply chain or logistics
  • Previous supervisory experience a plus
  • Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Self-starter and self-motivated
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Prior experience using SAP or other ERP system preferred
