Job Description

The Senior Corporate Communications Manager will support the development and implementation of external communications to drive awareness of Guardant Health and its product portfolio. Each year millions of people around the world are diagnosed with cancer. You will play a pivotal role in driving the understanding of the value of our liquid biopsy tests in helping patients at all stages of cancer live longer and healthier lives.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications, you will help shape the communications strategy to drive the understanding and differentiation of Guardant Health’s product portfolio and support the company’s position as a leader in precision oncology through media relations, data and milestone communications, thought leadership activities, educational campaigns, and other communications activities.

You will have the ability to engage a broad range of external stakeholders and drive alignment across internal cross-functional teams to support communications of our comprehensive efforts to transform cancer care.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of measurable, integrated external communications programs to raise the profile of Guardant Health, its product portfolio, and the value its products bring to cancer patients.
  • Serve as strategic communications counsel to senior executives and cross-functional teams including Commercial, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Government Affairs and Patient Advocacy to ensure initiatives ladder up to the company and business priorities.
  • Serve as an integral member of product brand teams and deliver compelling communications for product promotional plans, campaigns and tactics.
  • Lead the development of all corporate and internal communications materials for the product portfolio, including press releases, Q&As, fact sheets, videos, website content, executive talking points, and product and company milestones.
  • Manage the strategy, planning and implementation of Guardant Health’s social media presence
  • Manage thought leadership opportunities, speaking engagements, issues management and executive communications related to the product portfolio.
  • Manage agency partners, providing agency teams with appropriate information and oversight to effectively implement programs.
  • Create metrics to analyze effectiveness of communication plans.
  • Serve as a media spokesperson, build and maintain relationships with key reporters covering the company’s product portfolio including top-tier and industry trade publications.
  • Prepare company spokespeople for media interviews and other engagements, including training spokespeople, as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years related experience; relevant experience at a PR agency or in-house at a healthcare, biotech or diagnostic company preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing measurable, integrated external public relations plans.
  • Strong understanding of scientific concepts and the ability to translate technical language into laymen’s terms.
  • A creative and solutions-oriented mentality when it comes to problem-solving
  • Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to influence others and drive alignment across diverse cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and executing successful media strategies
  • Demonstrated experience in social media management
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to navigate, problem-solve and execute in a fast-paced environment and simultaneously manage multiple assignments
  • Team player with the ability to work well with management, peers, other departments and external parties
