Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Senior Architect to be based in our Roanoke, VA office.
The Senior Architect will be responsible for the following items:
- Coordinates a team effort to deliver various-sized projects through diverse design and construction phases
- Will communicate with the Project Manager on the project work plan, deliverables, and schedule
- Will use their diverse knowledge of architectural principles and practices, building codes, standards, and building construction technologies to develop and deliver quality projects to our clients
- Will lead integrated design teams of varying sizes to accomplish project delivery from concept through construction document completion and may perform construction administration
- Ensures communication between project management, project team, consultants, and Client
- Promotes project delivery through architectural guidance and technically feasible solutions
- Fosters professional development and mentorship for emerging professionals

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS in Architecture or related field plus eight (8) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Licensed Architect
- US Citizenship is required for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (BArch) or Bachelor of Science in Architecture + Master’s degree in Architecture with ten (10) years of relevant experience in design, resolving technical issues, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- DOD, Higher Education, Municipal and/or Science & Technology experience is preferred
- Revit and BIM as well as experience in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, InDesign, Bluebeam, and software such as Rhino, SketchUp, or other visualization tools
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to cultivate a collaborative environment
- Affinity with developing details and experience in construction documents
- Ability to be client-facing and lead client discussions and charrettes
- Ability to multi-task and be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlines.
- Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment

Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $140,000
