Job Summary:
This role supports the Maintenance and Utilities Manager by leading, coordinating, and optimizing maintenance teams across the facility—including production, preprocessing, clean in place (CIP) equipment, facilities/utilities, and environmental programs. The position ensures safe, high-quality operations within established P&L and regulatory standards.
Job Responsibilities & Tasks:
Maintenance Operations Leadership
· Oversee all utilities of maintenance operations and serve as a primary departmental point of contact.
· Ensure adherence to safety, food safety, GMP, and regulatory standards; promote accountability and disciplined execution of procedures
· Communicate effectively with management, co‑workers, and direct reports to coordinate activities and share information.
· Allocate personnel and schedule work based on plant priorities
· Ensure the implementation of best practices between lines such that all workshops benefit from lessons learned throughout the plant.
· Facilitate sharing and implementation of maintenance best practices within Nampa and across other company plants.
Preventative Maintenance & Continuous Improvement
· Oversee the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program and partner with Technical Services for optimization. Plan, purchase, kit, and schedule PMs for the utility technicians.
· Use fact‑based root cause analysis to implement corrective actions and achieve performance and financial targets.
· Apply 5S, Lean, and continuous improvement principles to drive operational excellence
· Effective use of CMMS for data‑driven decision‑making and cost improvement.
Workshop & Repairable Management
· Monitor work areas to ensure compliance with safety protocols, including OSHA and safety requirements.
· Manage repairable parts activities including test bench operations, inventory, KPIs, and quality of repaired components.
· Lead the implementation and sustainability of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) initiatives within the plant
· Collaborate with direct manager and the Technical Services manager to ensure proper budgeting, planning and spending associated with maintenance consumables, spare parts, and maintenance services.
Facilities, Utilities, and Environmental Programs
· Oversee maintenance activities for facilities, utilities, and environmental compliance programs
· Ensure proper monitoring of utilities metrics (wastewater, electrical, nitrogen, boilers, HVAC, compressed air, life safety systems) and coordinate optimization initiatives
· Ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulatory requirements.
Team & Performance Management
· Lead and develop Maintenance Supervisors to ensure equipment reliability and team competency
· Oversee maintenance training processes and mechanic qualification pathways.
· Identify and propose training programs to strengthen team skill sets.
· Partner with HR to address personnel issues and support consistent application of company policies.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Leadership
· Participate as a member of the extended plant leadership team and support cross‑functional collaboration.
· Lead or participate in investigations and root cause analyses; support corrective actions.
· Identify and justify improvements that enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency

Position Requirements:
EDUCATION
· Bachelor's degree in engineering or Operations; or 10 years of maintenance or food manufacturing experience in lieu of degree
