Overview
The National Director of Legal Records Management and Information Governance is responsible for establishing, leading, and continuously improving IST Management’s enterprise-wide records management and information governance strategy, policies, standards, and operations. This hands-on leadership role ensures effective management, protection, retention, classification, accessibility, and disposition of information assets throughout their lifecycle while supporting client service, regulatory compliance, risk management, cybersecurity, privacy, litigation readiness, eDiscovery, and business objectives. The National Director serves as a strategic leader and trusted advisor to IST Management leadership and clients, and works to support the development of new business at IST Management.

This is a remote position based in the United States. Occasional travel, including air travel, may take place - up to 10% a year.
Compensation for this role will be based upon relevant experience and performance during the interview process, and may range from $125,000.00 - $250,000.00, plus benefits.

Responsibilities
- Develop and lead IST Management’s enterprise-wide Information Governance and Legal Records Management strategy, policies, standards, and processes.
- Establish and oversee information lifecycle practices, including data classification, metadata, retention, legal holds, disposition, defensible deletion, and management of structured and unstructured information.
- Lead the modernization of records and information governance through technology, automation, data migration, and integration with enterprise systems.
- Evaluate and implement technologies that improve information visibility, security, compliance, retention, and control.
- Partner with all departments to ensure information is managed securely and in accordance with legal, regulatory, and client requirements.
- Provide subject-matter expertise on legal records management, information governance, eDiscovery, data migrations, and other information-related initiatives.
- Establish retention schedules, governance controls, audit processes, and defensible disposition practices.
- Advise IST Management leadership and clients on information-related risks, governance requirements, and best practices.
- Lead training, change management, and adoption initiatives to promote consistent governance practices across the organization.
- Continuously assess and improve Information Governance and Legal Records Management processes, technology, and service delivery.
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; legal authorization to work for any employer in the US required; advanced degree in Information Governance, Records Management, Information Systems, Business, Law, or a related field preferred
- 8+ years of progressive experience leading Information Governance, Legal Records Management, eDiscovery, Legal Technology, or related programs, including at least 5 years in a leadership role within a legal, litigation support, professional services, or highly regulated environment
- Deep knowledge of legal records management, information lifecycle management, retention, legal holds, disposition, data preservation, compliance, and related technologies, with the ability to leverage technology and AI to improve business and client outcomes
- Proven ability to develop and implement governance programs, policies, and technology solutions while managing vendor
