Job Description

Team background:

Global Markets represents 100% of the revenue of the company, bringing together 5 of the Regional Presidents, 200+ markets, and all the key client-facing functions (e.g., Global Clients, Global Deals) who report to Visa’s global Group President.

The Global Markets Operations team directly supports and works with Visa’s Group President as well as the Global Markets team in achieving its top priorities across an array of strategic and operational activities. The team has 3 main objectives: (1) ensuring a highly efficiency and efficacious operating model to enable Visa to reach its financial and operational goals, (2) enabling global best practice sharing and common alignment across all of Visa’s 5 regions and 200+ markets, (3) directly owning, leading, and executing key cross-functional strategic initiatives that are top-management priorities.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

Visa is seeking a strategic yet pragmatic, and results-oriented Senior Director to lead the  Long-Tail Acceptance Go-To-Market Center of Excellence (COE) on behalf of Global Markets.

In this newly created role, you will design, launch, and operationalize Visa’s renewed focus on increasing acceptance and preference amongst SMB/Nano merchants worldwide accelerating/guiding product pilots, incubating new innovative solutions, and delivering integrated go-to-market strategies that span across cross-functional levers such as pricing/GE/marketing and more. This highly visible role will partner closely with product, sales, and other Global Market & Functional teams to drive key priorities and deliver measurable impact.

The Senior Director will report to the Head of Global Markets Operations and be an integrative member of the Global Markets Operations team.

This role will begin as an individual contributor, but remit will most likely expand to include the hiring/management of a small yet high-impact team (to be co-shaped with Head of Global Markets Ops + Group President).

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the Vision & Track Progress, owning priorities and success metrics for OKRs
  • Develop and Deliver the Long-Tail Acceptance Playbook 
  • Fostering a collaborative Product Go-To-Market (GTM) Partnership, act as primary liaison with the Global Product to inform and deliver go-to-market strategies

his is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
  • 12+ years’ experience in payments, fintech, or a related high-growth industry, experience in go-to-market strategy, product commercialization, or market operations preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale, multi-market initiatives or product launches, ideally in a global context.
  • Strong expertise in go-to-market planning, sales enablement, and playbook development.
  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally, influence at all levels, and drive alignment between product, sales, and market teams.
  • Analytical and strategic thinker with a track record of defining and achieving ambitious goals.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office
