Leidos’ Defense Systems Sectors Persistent Surveillance Portfolio has an opening for a Logistics & Training Section Manager with the ability and experience to work multiple projects (test & integration, logistics, support/sustainment and training).

Our team solves important problems that make a difference and support our customers in the current and future defense of our nation; primarily in the areas of integration, testing, characterization, modeling, simulation, data analysis, and algorithm development for our surveillance systems. You will be responsible for working with government and internal customers to develop and execute a comprehensive logistics strategy, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring performance meets program requirements. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise and exceptional leadership skills.

The ideal developer candidate will also demonstrate experience in and/or enthusiasm toward developing a broader technical capability to support overlapping engineering and scientific disciplines with a particular focus on writing software to solve problems. Candidate will be expected to support multiple tasks in parallel, productively contribute in a team environment, and communicate effectively to management, coworkers, and customers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage a group of engineers and technicians, lead efforts on all logistics and training efforts
  • Lead the effort to develop and implement a logistics & training program
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, software, hardware, and production teams, to ensure seamless execution of logistics activities
  • Assist customer in execution of their logistics & training efforts, ensuring compliance with program objectives and customer requirements
  • Manage risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies related to test activities.
  • Oversee the planning, preparation, and execution of internal testing
  • Analyze fielded and developmental systems, identify trends, and provide clear reporting to stakeholders
  • Serve as the primary interface with customers, contractors, and other external stakeholders for all logistics & training efforts
  • Ensure effective communication of results, status, and risks to senior leadership and the customer community
  • Ensure all logistics activities comply with applicable standards, regulations, and program requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes and methodologies

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a technical field plus 5 years of relevant experience in logistics, training, test and evaluation, systems engineering, or related fields, with a focus on radar or similar complex systems or Masters plus 3 years of relevant experience in logistics, training, test and evaluation, systems engineering, or related fields, with a focus on radar or similar complex systems
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale efforts
  • Strong knowledge of radar system architectures, performance metrics, and methodologies
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques used for radar system evaluation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to manage complex schedules, budgets, and technical challenges
  • U.S. Citizenship required; active Secret clearance
