Who we’re looking for

Toyota Battery Manufacturing at North Carolina (TBMNC) is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Principal Engineer - Siemens OpCenter System Integration & Agile Process.

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and manage the third-party system integration team to ensure efficient execution of the backlog, resolution of issues, and continuous improvement of team performance. You will also collaborate with functional leaders to intake, prioritize, and allocate work, while ensuring Agile practices are followed and key metrics are tracked.

Reporting to the TBMNC Manufacturing Operation Management Functional Manager, the person in this role will support the TBMNC BEV Manufacturing Systems department's objective to ensure seamless execution of system integration tasks by managing the third-party team, driving Agile processes, and aligning deliverables with business needs to support organizational goals.

What you’ll be doing

  • OpCenter Configuration & Development – Design, configure, and develop solutions within Siemens OpCenter to meet project requirements. Ensure optimal system performance and functionality through effective coding and integration practices.

  • System Integration & Testing – Implement and test integrations between OpCenter and other enterprise systems. Conduct thorough testing to ensure seamless data flow and system interoperability.

  • Technical Documentation & Standards – Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all development processes, configurations, and integrations. Establish coding standards and best practices for the team.

  • Performance Optimization – Analyze system performance metrics and identify areas for improvement. Implement enhancements to optimize system efficiency and reduce latency.

  • Troubleshooting & Support – Provide technical support for system issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing solutions to resolve problems promptly.

What you bring

  • B.A./B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field AND/OR commensurate experience.

  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience.

  • Proven years of experience in software development with a focus on system integration and application development, particularly within manufacturing environments.

  • Experience in Siemens OpCenter, including OpCenter Execution (EXDS), OpCenter Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS), and Teamcenter - demonstrating proficiency in configuration, development, and integration.

  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, C#, and/or Python, with experience in developing custom applications and integrations using RESTful APIs and web services.

  • Experience in implementing and optimizing Agile development practices, including sprint planning, backlog management, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes using tools like Jira and Git.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to system integrations, with a focus on root cause analysis and effective problem-solving strategies.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment on development priorities.

  • Proven experience in performance optimization of integrated systems, with a focus on enhancing system efficiency and user experience through techniques such as load testing and performance tuning.

  • Ability to analyze and report on key performance metrics related to development activities, ensuring the team remains focused on high-impact tasks and continuous improvement.

  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and development tools like Visual Studio, Eclipse, or IntelliJ IDEA commonly used in software development and integration projects.
